Teen driving has long been an issue of concern for parents, friends and of course other drivers on the road. Thehttp://www.personalinjuryweblog.com/wp-admin/post-new.phpre’s a reason that insurance http://www.personalinjuryweblog.com/wp-admin/post-new.phppremiums are much higher for someone who is of teen-aged years than adults, and that’s because they are statistically more likely to be involved in auto accidents. Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened in the area recently with tragic results.
According to the Sacramento Bee:
“Two teens died this morning when their car went out of control on a curve and slammed into a power pole near Olivehurst in Yuba County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The solo vehicle accident occurred about 5 a.m. at Plumas Arboga Road just west of Forty Mile Road.
Sonia L. Solley, 18, of Wheatland and Jacob Scott O’Neal, 17, from Plumas Lake died in the accident, according to the CHP.
Solley, who was driving, lost control on a sweeping right curve and then swerved, which put the car into skid, according to the report.
The car slid across traffic lanes and ran off the road and through a fence. The car then overturned and struck a power pole, shearing it off at the base.”
Neither of the teens was wearing a seat belt, which may have contributed to the terrible result. Regardless of the cause, the result is unavoidable in this instance. However, others can learn from this and prevent it from happening with their young drivers.
