Six year old Andrew Jackson was riding his bike in the 400 block of Connie Court in Merced around 5 p.m. on Monday when he was struck by a Toyota Tacoma being driven by Cher Thao, 58 of Merced.  He suffered major head injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The police report that Ms. Thao saw the boy but was unable to avoid the collision.   The accident remains under investigation and any witnesses to this Merced car accident and Merced bike accident are asked to contact police at (209)385-4739.
