A San Francisco accident killed one person and hurt four other people on Thursday Hayes Valley neighborhood. The accident involving UCSF shuttle bus and a big rig was caused by the shuttle running a red light.

Five teenage girls from Ceres were on the way to school when they were hit by a pick-up truck on Wednesday morning. One of the girls was pronounced dead. An 80-year-old Sacramento woman was fatally injured Thursday when she was hit by a car while walking her dog in a crosswalk in North Natomas.  Lifang Chow Liou sustained major injuries when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle as she and her dog were in the crosswalk at North Park and Banfield Drive shortly before 8 a.m.  Ms. Liou was transported from the scene to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.  Her dog was found unhurt and running loose.  The driver stayed at the scene of the collision and police do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor.

Three people were seriously injured in a Grass Valley car accident on Thursday. According to the California Highway Patrol this California car crash occurred around 12:35 p.m. Twenty year old Kathryn Fisher from Auburn,  driving a Chevrolet Metro, was at the highway 49’s intersection with Lorenzo Road. It appears as if Ms. Fisher pulled out in front of a  Mazda Miata driven by Melanie Harnage, 34, of Nevada City. . The  Miata struck the left side of the Chevy Metro and  overturned.. Ms. Fischer and her passenger Samantha Devlin were hospitalized with injuries. .  In addition, Ms. Harnage was rushed by ambulance to  Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital. The extent of her injuries are unknown.   The Grass Valley accident remains under investigation.

A 44-year–old Elk Grove man died after his motorcycle collided with the rear of a pickup truck on Interstate 80 in Davis. Donlad J. Halverstadt and his wife were riding on their Harley Davidson on Interstate 80. As reported by the California Highway Patrol, around 11:15p.m. the couple on the motorcycle was traveling behind and slightly to the right of a Toyota Tundra pickup. Suddenly and  for unknown reasons the motorcycle veered left and collided with the rear of the Tundra. The driver was instantly ejected from the motorcycle. Mr. Halverstadt was taken to the U.C. Davis Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Dana Halverstadt, suffered major injuries to her hands, knees and hips. The driver and the passenger of the pickup were not injured.  The Davis crash remains under investigation. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. The motorcycle and the pickup appear to have been  traveling at a safe speed.

Four people were injured in Amador car accident on Sunday. According to the California Highway Patrol, this crash occurred at Highway 49 and Industrial Boulevard.  Louise Henderson, 77 and a Sacramento resident and her 85-year-old passenger, Mary Leskey were moving in a southbound direction on Highway 49.  Suddenly, they passed through a red light at the intersection with Industrial Boulevard.
